day 64

we awoke super early cause the hikers next door, who were being picked up to leave, were up stomping around and being very loud. we got up before our alarm and headed down to get some breakfast. we had a long day of biking ahead of us but luckily it was mostly downhill! after much biking we made it to radford, which is a town situated on a river/lake but the town sits on these crazy steep hills like san francisco but its split up east and west and they are only connected it seems at the front. we wandered around before finding main street and eating at sharkey's, a rib place, then roaming around trying to find anyplace to throw our tent up. up and down we went on these hills trying to find a church or something and as we reached the top of the hill and noticed you couldn't drop down into the other part of the town we went back down, as we were going down at break neck speeds, a guy yelled at us about bike the transam. i turned around and chatted with him and him and his wife let us stay in their backyard. i booked my amtrak ticket that night and caught up with my good pal craig while there was a lightning storm in the distance. evan and i then laid in the tent sweating like crazy and wishing we were asleep......
